Description:

We are a Private Referral Dental Practice and we are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Hygienist/Therapist to join us.

We employ a team of Specialists, including a Consultant Periodontist, who you will collaborate with to provide a very high standard of care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventative dental care, assisting with patient education, and supporting the overall oral health of our patients. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a friendly and supportive environment, contributing to improved patient outcomes and oral health awareness. The self-employed position is suitable for individuals committed to delivering exceptional dental care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct oral health assessments and document findings accurately in patient records
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using advanced medical imaging techniques when required.
  • Perform PMPR and non-surgical periodontal treatment according to prescription, and administer LA as required
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols in accordance with health regulations and follow Practice policy and procedures
  • Utilise CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools for specific dental procedures when applicable
  • Keep the treatment area clean, organised, and fully stocked with necessary supplies by liaising with the supporting team of nurses and management staff

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of dental anatomy and oral health principles
  • Proficiency in medical imaging techniques, including radiography
  • A large number of patients have dental implants, so experience of dental implant care is beneficial
  • Experience with CAD software relevant to dental applications is desirable
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and reassure patients
  • Organised with attention to detail in record keeping and clinical tasks
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of current infection control standards and best practices
