Dental Sedation for Nervous Patients

We understand that dental anxiety can prevent patients from seeking the care they need. Our approach is centred around creating an environment where you feel comfort and reassurance.

From the moment you arrive, our team takes time to listen to your concerns and explain your treatment clearly, without pressure or urgency. Our modern practice has been designed to feel calm and welcoming, helping you feel at ease throughout your visit.

For patients who would benefit from additional support, we offer IV sedation, carefully administered by experienced clinicians. Sedation allows you to remain relaxed and comfortable during treatment, while we carry out your care safely and gently.

Our aim is simple. To replace fear with confidence and ensure that your dental experience feels positive, controlled, and reassuring at every stage.

What is sedation?

Dental sedation is a safe and carefully controlled technique used to help you feel deeply relaxed during treatment. At Dentique Dentistry, sedation is administered by experienced clinicians who prioritise your comfort and wellbeing at every stage.

You remain conscious and able to respond, but feel calm and at ease, allowing treatment to be carried out smoothly and without distress. Sedation is designed to make your dental experience feel manageable and far more comfortable.

What Happens During IV Sedation?

During IV sedation, a small cannula is gently placed into a vein in your arm or hand. Through this, a carefully controlled sedative medication is administered, allowing you to enter a deeply relaxed and calm state within minutes.

You will remain conscious and able to respond to instructions, but you are likely to feel very drowsy and may remember little about the procedure afterwards. Throughout your treatment, your breathing, pulse, oxygen levels, and blood pressure are continuously monitored by our trained clinicians to ensure your safety and comfort at all times.

What Else Can Help?

At Dentique Dentistry, supporting nervous patients goes beyond the treatment chair. We take time to listen, build trust, and create a calm environment where you feel heard and understood.

Clear communication is central to our approach, and we are always happy to answer questions and explain each step of your care in detail.

  • Share your concerns with us in advance so we can plan your visit accordingly
  • Book a morning appointment to reduce time spent worrying
  • Practise slow breathing techniques before and during your visit
  • Avoid excessive caffeine on the day of treatment
  • Bring headphones to listen to calming music
  • Arrange for a trusted friend or family member to accompany you if needed

Our aim is to help you feel prepared, supported, and in control at every stage of your dental journey.
