Luis qualified as a dentist at the Central University of Venezuela before completing full-time specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Universidad de Carabobo in Valencia, Venezuela, where he achieved certification as a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Following this, he undertook further advanced training in dental implant reconstruction and orthognathic surgery, continuing to refine his expertise in complex surgical care.
In 2003, Luis was appointed as a Consultant at Centro Médico de Caracas, one of the leading healthcare institutions in Venezuela and Latin America. Alongside his clinical work, he held academic roles as a Clinical Instructor and Professor in Oral Surgery at Universidad Santa María Dental Hospital between 2003 and 2010, where he also contributed to the postgraduate oral implantology programme.
After relocating to the UK in 2010, Luis worked as a Specialty Doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery before being appointed Consultant in Oral Surgery at the Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Trust in March 2016. In addition to his NHS role, he provides specialist oral surgery services in private practice, including the surgical removal of wisdom teeth and the management of complex oral surgical cases.
Luis is fully registered with the General Dental Council, with both his dental and specialist qualifications recognised, and he is listed on the Specialist Register for Oral Surgery.
